Meet the Owners
Lena Carter and Jordan Blake founded Wags & Whiskers Co. after years in pet care, aiming to create a community-focused service.
Lena, a certified dog trainer and animal advocate, wanted to emphasize individualized care over convenience after managing a successful dog daycare. Jordan, a former vet tech and pet sitter, combines expertise in animal health with a passion for building connections with pets and their owners.
The two bonded at a local rescue fundraiser over shared values of compassion and reliability. What began as a few walking clients has evolved into a thriving team of trained, insured, and background-checked sitters and walkers across NYC.

Hi! I’m Lena, and animals have been my whole world for as long as I can remember. I started out volunteering at shelters in high school, worked my way up to managing a dog daycare in Brooklyn, and eventually became a certified dog trainer. I’ve always believed that pets deserve more than just basic care—they deserve someone who understands them, connects with them, and genuinely enjoys their company (which I absolutely do!). I specialize in working with shy and nervous pups, and nothing makes me happier than earning their trust and watching their confidence grow. When I’m not walking dogs or organizing our team’s schedule, you can find me at Prospect Park with my rescue mutt, Daisy (who is with me in this picture), or testing out homemade dog biscuit recipes in my kitchen.
Jordan Blake
Co-Founder | Pet Sitter Extraordinaire | Cat Cuddler-in-Chief
Hey there! I’m Jordan—former vet tech, full-time animal lover, and proud co-founder of Wags & Whiskers Co. After years in the veterinary world, I realized my true passion was in the everyday moments: the morning walks, the quiet couch cuddles, the silly routines that make every pet unique. I’ve been pet sitting and walking dogs across NYC for over a decade now, and I treat every animal like they’re my own (spoiler: sometimes I miss them more than their humans do). I’m especially experienced with senior pets and animals that need a little extra care or medication. When I’m not on the go with a leash in hand, you’ll find me curled up with a good book, a cat on my lap (this guy in the picture with me is Bruce), and a mug of coffee that’s been reheated at least twice.

Dog Walking
Whether it’s a potty break or a full-blown adventure, our walks are safe, enriching, and full of love.
- Quick Wag (15 mins): $18
A fast stretch, potty break, and belly rubs. Great for older pups or midday relief. - Classic Stroll (30 mins): $25
Our most popular option—plenty of time to sniff, explore, and get those paws moving. - Adventure Walk (60 mins): $40
A full hour of movement and mental stimulation for high-energy pups.
Add $10 per additional dog from the same household.
Pet Sitting
(Drop-in Visits)
Perfect for cats, small animals, or dogs who just need a check-in while you're away.
- Standard Visit (30 mins): $28
Includes feeding, fresh water, litter or potty cleanup, meds if needed, and tons of love. - Extended Visit (60 mins): $45
More time for play, companionship, and detailed care.
House Sitting (No Pets)
Going out of town and want someone to keep an eye on things?
- Overnight Stay (Pet-Free): $75
Includes mail collection, plant watering, and home security check-ins.
Puppy Visits
(Under 6 Months)
Extra patience, training support, and TLC for your tiny tornado.
- 30-Minute Puppy Play & Care: $30
Includes feeding, cleanup, basic reinforcement training, and structured play.
